Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University is a university that is transparent, participatory, enterprising, producing information and technology, contributing to the economic, social and cultural structure of the region Our Unıversity, which is named after the hero of Plevne, Gaziosmanpaşa, was established properly to Higher Education Institutions Organization No. 41 of the Decree Law No. 2809 on the Adoption of Law No. 78 and 190 Decree Law Amendments and Law No. 3837 dated 03.07.1992 pursuant to Article.

Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University, located on Tokat-Turhal highway, continues training programs on Taşlıçiftlik campus which is 9 kms away from the city center, Ali Şevki Erek campus in the city center, Sulusokak Deveciler Hanı and in 8 districts.

In University, there are Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Science and Letters, Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Faculty of Fine Arts, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Theology, Faculty of Law and Faculty of Health Sciences by organization order. For graduated students, there are Institute School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Institute School of Health Sciences, Institute School of Social Sciences and Institute of Educational Sciences.
